Sitio de Calahonda is the formal name for the area most people just call Calahonda. It is mostly homes rather than hotels, a place people live in all year rather than a strip that empties out in November. That shapes the cleaning work here: more regular cleans, fewer one-off changeovers, and a lot of second homes that need airing before the owners arrive.

Calahonda sits within the Mijas municipality, between La Cala de Mijas and the Fuengirola side of the coast. The town hall looks after the area, and the beach at Calahonda is a short walk from many of the apartments.
